Mohammad Fidakar

Economics PhD Student

Emory University

Welcome

Hi, I am Mohammad Fidakar, a displaced scholar from Ghaznin (Afghanistan), and currently an economics PhD student at Emory University, where I also work as research assistant with Professor Stephen D. O’Connell. My academic journey includes a Master of Development Policy with a focus on sustainable development from KDI School in South Korea and a Bachelor degree in Economics from Balkh University in Afghanistan.

Prior to joining Emory, I served as a Senior Teaching Assistant at Ghazni University, where I taught courses in Introduction to Development Theory, Public Economics, History of Economic Thoughts, and Microeconomics to undergraduate students. My teaching career at Ghazni University began in 2014, and I was selected to lead the university’s research center in 2020.

As I step Outside work, photography enables me to have “A Closer Look” at the beauty of nature. I also enjoy playing soccer with friends in Atlanta.
